CORPUS CALLOSUM

Corpus Callosum was exhibited and performed at ODC Dance Commons, a dance studio and performance space in San Francisco, California. It included a dance by Ellen Slatkin with photography, paintings, and drawings by Terri Saul. The project tells the story of the artist's brain surgery, the removal of a cavernous malformation from the corpus callosum. The dance was created in response to sketches and a narrative by the artist. Concurrent with a series of rehearsals the artist began producing drawings, paintings, and photographs in response to the dance. Ellen Slatkin is the choreographer. Dancers are Angela Rollins, Ellen Slatkin, Maya Kell-Abrams, Simon Greenberg, and Zoe Huey. Dancers appearing in a separate photo series are Simon Greenberg and Ellen Slatkin.
